THE RIP AND RUIN

                Piece by Marion Sparber 19.01.2024

"The Ripe and Ruin" is a striking contemporary dance solo that delves into the body as a bearer and generator of memories. As past memories resurface with intensity, joy and the pain of farewells intertwine. Through expressive movement, emotions become vehicles that grant access to these memories. It's a journey that examines the connection between the body, emotions, and memories within our present experience.

What is it that we call ours? When we look back, remembering what brought us here, which of the stories we tell or hear do we consider true? Using the poetic power of myth as a narrative thread, Luna, through sound and dance, invites us to ask ourselves: How is identity constructed?

In a space where differences reside and in a time that feels circular, 'lo ch'ixi' presents itself as an alternative that doesn't aim for mixture, but rather 'accounts for a reality where multiple stories, convictions, impulses coexist, not merging but antagonizing or complementing each other.
